According to Penn Foster’s website, they are accredited by some agencies, but from what I can gather, they are not regionally accredited, which many say is the only accreditation that matters.
Penn Foster’s website indicates that they are accredited by “the Middle States Commission on Secondary Schools for its high school and vocational-technical programs and by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC)”
As far accredited online colleges, there are literally hundreds of regionally accredited colleges and universities offering online degrees. I will name a few that might interest you:
Boston University
Cornell University
University of Illinois
University of Massachusetts
Columbia University
Harvard University Extension School
Northeastern University
Columbia College
University of Notre Dame
Arizona State University
Florida Tech
Fisher College
Norwich University
Tulane University
University of Maryland
…and the list goes on… check out my sources below for additional schools if you want to see a few more.
Hope that helps!
