Go to online college

Depends on many factors, but most enlisted folk can take on-line courses once they get to a permanent station. In addition, if you end up at a shore station you can probably take regular classes as a nearby university. No guarantees, but it works out pretty often. I got a BA while on active duty as a corpsman, and I know quite a few others who did the same. It is difficult and some of your peers will want you to spend your time hanging in bars and such, but it can be done.

Your workday depends on your rate. As an HM you’ll probably be pretty busy. It’s difficult to take online classes at sea because internet access is very slow and often limited. It would not be as difficult to take an online class when you’re on shore duty. In fact you’ll probably have time to take classes in an actual classroom. One nice thing about being in the military while being in college is the military will cover the cost of tuition.

It is certainly possible to earn your degree in the Navy. I’ve heard of plenty of enlisted sailors getting their bachelors and even their masters while enlisted. But it takes a lot of work and it won’t happen as quickly as if you were a full time college student without a job.

The Navy does have a program with tutors aboard some ships but those are usually introductory classes.

As sailors you basically have alot of time on your own and taking up online courses is a very creative and good idea.

Since you are on the sea most of the time, i guess thats the only option for you. You should consider taking arts colleges or design which eventhough it is not acredited you still gain the skills, afterall once you graduate what people will look at will not be your result but your portfolio instead. Since you travel a lot i think its a good opportunity to take up arts, you are exposed to other cultures so it is safe to assume that you are suppose to be more creative then others

What i suggest is that start off with doing some research on online colleges, as you might not know most online colleges are not accredited. Kindly consult the university which you want to ended up in ask them if they take the online college credit transfer or not. Becareful when you are searching for online colleges
